The short version: your images are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

Your images never leave your device

FitToKB performs all image compression, resizing, format conversion and HEIC decoding entirely within your web browser using the Canvas API and client-side WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded, transmitted, stored or seen by us or any third party. When you close the tab, any in-memory copy is gone.

What we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible:

  • Your images / files: never collected. They stay on your device.
  • Anonymous analytics: if (and only if) you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand which tools are used most. We do not collect personal information and do not sell data.
  • Local storage: we store your cookie-consent choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. That value never leaves your device.

Cookies & consent

Analytics cookies load only after you click “Allow” on our banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means analytics defaults to a denied, cookieless state until you opt in. You can decline with no loss of functionality — every tool works the same either way.

Third parties

  • Hosting: the site is served as static files by our hosting provider (Netlify). Standard server logs (such as IP address) may be processed by the host for security and delivery; we do not use these for tracking.
  • Google Analytics: used only with your consent, as described above.

Advertising

We may show Google AdSense ads to support the free tools. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent choices where required by law. Your image files are never uploaded to us, Google or advertisers.

Children’s privacy

FitToKB is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
